Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Sarah Mordaunt and I am a qualified clinical counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy either in-person, online or over the telephone to adults, older adults, EAP, and organisations in North East London.
I am passionate to help you explore your situation and what has brought you to counselling and I hope as you tour through my site you will get a sense of me and how we might work together.
How often do we find ourselves on the road of life, not know how we got there, wondering where the road is going? We all have unique life situations when we find ourselves stuck, feeling anxious, unsupported and not knowing what to do next!
The first step is recognising the need to give ourselves the time and space where we can share our life story and it's issues.
Secondly is finding the right counselling professional, to listen, be kind, non-judgemental, supportive and is experienced in counselling hundreds of people.
Finally and most importantly is the trust in a therapeutic relationship, as working well together means we are seen, heard and helped to understand ourselves and our issues better.
As a counsellor working within the NHS, charity sectors and privately, I have helped hundreds of clients who have come with overwhelming feelings and emotions. I am passionate about helping with anxiety, grief, isolation, low mood, as well as issues in childhood, the workplace, or relationships.
I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach to counselling, so use a relational blended approach where the client is central to the process.
I am culturally self-aware, competent and respectful of how race, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, faith, diversity, socio-economic and socio-political often influences and impacts the lives of clients.
When exploring your road of life, we work at your pace, on the issues and situations that are affecting you and whilst you know yourself best when inviting me on the road, together we can navigate, understand and find solutions.

I offer a free 15 minute online or telephone conversation, when you can tell me briefly what's bringing you to counselling and what you're hoping to achieve. Then I will share about myself, my counselling experience and practice.
Hopefully between us there will be instinctive therapeutic connection, but we may need further time to consider working together, so I'm happy for us to have a Q&A and assessment before we making a therapy plan.
Should you wish to proceed we can find a date and time to book you in for assessment. I really look forward to working with you.
An assessment form will be emailed for completion and returned for the initial assessment appointment to take place via telephone lasting 30 minutes. In this session l will ask questions around the form to help me understand fully your current problem and what you hope to gain from counselling.
We will agree to a therapy plan of sessions and these will be booked with dates and time held until the advance payment of the session appears in the payment account, one week before each session takes place. A counselling session is 50 minutes and held weekly on the same day and time. Short term sessions last for 12 to 16 weeks, longer terms run from 6 months to 1+ years.
If your plans change and notified within a 48-hour notice then we will try to reschedule your appointment, but all cancellations within a 24-hour notice are non-refundable.
I offer some concessionary rates with a limited number of low-cost sessions for individuals/students on benefit support.
I acknowledge that therapy is a significant investment and that finances may be a barrier. If so I recommend you speak with your GP or look up your local NHS psychology service for free counselling.
Feel free to contact me here with a message or if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment.
Or you can call me on 07432211449 to leave your message.
All enquires are usually answered within 48 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
PLEASE NOTE:
I am not able to provide crisis or emergency support. If you require urgent care please contact your GP, go to your local A&E or Samaritans Crisis Line 116 123.
